Men's Shelter Director The Organization:
The Gathering Place Mission provides emergency shelter to men, women, and children in a safe faith-based environment, located in Georgetown, KY.
The objective of the Men's Shelter is to provide a safe environment for Men during the transition from being homeless to re-starting their lives.
Position
Summary:
The men's Shelter Director provides overall leadership, direction, and support to our residents.
The position is responsible for the oversight of all operations, programs and activities of the Men's Shelter and for ensuring that all Shelter policies and practices are consistent with the agency's mission and goals.
This position is also responsible for assisting with all office operations in the absence of the Gathering Place Mission Executive Director.
Reports to:
Executive Director
Essential Functions:
1.
Oversees the daily operation of the Men's Shelter 2.
Manages supervisory subordinate staff 3.
Supervises and directs all activities of residents, providing case management for each resident.
4.
Addresses all issues within the facility in a timely, direct & respectful manner and assists in resolving all conflicts.
5.
Maintains all facility and resident files, including all reports, intake, progress notes, and disciplinary actions.
6.
Coordinates and provides weekly house meetings to assign chores, identify needs and concerns, clarify rules and policies and procedures as they pertain to the shelter.
7.
Ongoing inspection & maintenance of the facility to insure cleanliness and safety.
8.
Ensures continuous coverage during all shelter shifts, which may include on-call responsibilities.
9.
Ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
10.
Reviews services on an ongoing basis and develops new programs as needs emerge.
Minimum
Qualifications:
High school diploma Interpersonal skills and ability to relate to diverse communities Computer & technology skills Effective written and oral communication skills Ability to work effectively in changing and demanding or chaotic environment Additional Consideration:
Coursework in counseling, social work, human services, psychology or related field Previous experience working with the homeless population.
